Driver Wireless Adapter Windows 8

I find that a little surprising.I have an aging D-Link DWL G132 USB adapter which is found and connects.What is the make and model of the computer and the adapter?What happens when you insert the adapter?After having inserted the adapter, did you go to Control Panel Network and Sharing Change adapter settings?The adapter came with the CD to set up a program control for the adapter. It would search for the network, find it and try to connect. I tried the WPS setup by clicking the button on my router and then the button one the adapter. Same problem. I tried theWindows control panel helps.same problem.I took the adapter back today and purchased the a different, newer and more expensive one.same problem.According to all I have read there isn't a Windows 8 driver out there yet to solve the problem.For now we are doing all our on-line time on the new computer and will keep watching for a driver that will work.Thanks for responding.Molly.
